Description
If you run a restaurant, noodle shop, or malatang chain, you know the struggle. A customer orders hot soup for delivery. Twenty minutes later, the container's bottom has gone soft. The side seam starts leaking. By the time it arrives, the plastic bag is full of oily broth, and the customer is angry.
Most standard paper bowls are designed for light use – think a quick cup of soup eaten on the spot. However, for real takeaway and delivery, especially with spicy, oily, or long-distance orders, they often fail. The paper absorbs moisture. The coating peels. The lid pops off.
We built our paper soup bowls to solve exactly these failures.

Paper Soup Bowls & Tubs – For Takeaway Soups, Malatang, Noodles, and Oily Broths
What Makes Our Paper Soup Bowls Different?

Deeper Bowl Design
Our bowls are deeper and slightly narrower than standard paper soup bowls.
Wide bowls tend to move around inside delivery bags, especially for soup orders. A deeper shape keeps the bowl more stable during transport, and the narrower opening makes it easier to hold with one hand.
This is useful for takeaway shops and delivery drivers carrying multiple orders at the same time.
Stronger Bottom Structure
The bottom uses heavier paperboard, up to 320gsm, together with a reinforced curling process.
Some cheaper bowls start getting soft after 30–40 minutes with hot soup. Our bowls are designed for much longer delivery use.
Even after several hours with hot liquid inside, the bottom stays firm without obvious bulging or softening.

Triple-Layer Side Sealing
A lot of leaking problems actually come from the side seam, not the bottom.
Many standard bowls only use a single glue line. We use a triple-layer sealing structure to handle hot soup and oily foods more reliably.
We tested the bowls with 90°C malatang broth containing heavy chili oil. After 4 hours, the side seam was still dry. After 6 hours, there was only slight moisture near the top rim, but no leakage.
Full Interior Coating
The inside of the bowl is fully coated with PE coating or optional PLA coating.
The coating also covers the bottom corner area, which is where many paper bowls usually fail first. There are no exposed paper edges inside the bowl, which helps prevent leaking when holding hot soup, oil, or sauce for extended periods.

For Materials we use Sun Paper Food‑Grade Virgin Pulp
We source all paperboard from Sun Paper, one of China's most reputable pulp and paper manufacturers. Every roll is virgin fiber, not recycled, because recycled paper has shorter fibers and absorbs moisture faster.
Three surface options, each with a different look and feel:
| Paper Type | Vision & Touch | Best Market Positioning |
| White kraft | Bright colors, smooth texture, and vibrant full-color printing effect | Modern cafes, trendy noodle shops, colorful brand identities |
| Brown kraft | The material has a natural color, a slight texture, and a rustic appearance. | Eco‑focused brands, organic food, "natural" takeaway image |
| Bamboo pulp | The color is lighter and brighter than kraft paper, and the texture is very smooth, giving it a high-end feel. | High‑end sustainable packaging, dessert shops, boutique brands |
Paper cardboard weight range: 250–320 gsm.
250–270gsm: for lighter soups, congee, oatmeal (30‑45 min delivery)
280–320gsm: for hot soups, malatang, heavy oil broths, large sizes (32oz–64oz), or long delivery times (1+ hour)
Coating: PE vs. PLA – Detailed Comparison
Most of our customers choose PE coating for hot, oily foods. But we also offer PLA for eco‑focused brands.
| Property | PE Coating | PLA Coating |
| Maximum liquid temperature | 95°C (tested) | 85°C |
| Oil resistance | High – repels chili oil, sesame oil, butter | Medium – fine for light soups, but not heavy oil |
| Durability over time | 6+ hours without softening (tested) | 2–3 hours maximum |
| Compostability | Not compostable (recyclable in some regions) | Industrially compostable (requires a facility) |
| Best use cases | Malatang, spicy soup, ramen, curry, and long delivery | Warm soups, congee, eco‑conscious brands, short delivery |
What we recommend:
For malatang, curry, or any soup with visible oil, we recommend you choose PE coating.
For clear broth, oatmeal, or brands marketing "100% compostable" we recommend you choose PLA coating, but only if the delivery time is under 30 minutes and the liquid temperature need below 85°C.
Choosing the Right Lid for Your Food
A good paper soup bowl needs a good lid. We offer three types, each with clear strengths and limitations

Paper Lids – Eco‑friendly option
Made from the same food‑grade paperboard, with a thin water‑resistant coating
Heat resistance up to 80°C – not for boiling liquids
Best for: warm soups, oatmeal, congee, and short delivery

PP Lids (Polypropylene) – Recommended for hot takeaway
Heat resistance up to 100°C – no warping, no softening
Snap‑fit design: you hear a "click" when properly sealed
Best for: malatang, hot soups, curry, noodles, any delivery over 20 minutes
Available for all sizes 8oz–64oz

PET Lids (Clear plastic) – For cold foods only
Crystal clear, shows the product inside (good for desserts or premium presentation)
Maximum temperature 60°C – will warp if used with hot soup
Best for: ice cream, cold desserts, fruit bowls, salads
Custom Printing: Turn Every Bowl into a Brand Billboard

Many takeaway brands think of packaging as a cost. Smart brands think of it as advertising. Every time a customer eats from your bowl, they see your logo. If they post a photo on social media, thousands see it.
Minimum order for custom print: 30,000 pcs per size per design

FAQ
Q: Can I put boiling water (100°C) directly into your PLA coated bowl?
A: No. PLA softens above 85°C. Use PE coating for boiling water or very hot oil soups.
Q: Do you offer lids separately?
A: Yes. You can order lids in any quantity, even without bowls. But we recommend matching lid and bowl from the same batch for perfect fit.
Q: What's the difference between "PE film" and "water‑based lamination"?
A: PE film is a molten plastic layer extruded onto the paper – it creates a continuous, waterproof barrier. Water‑based lamination is thinner and more breathable; it's fine for dry foods but not for oily soups. For soup bowls, we recommend full PE extrusion.
Q: Can I print different logos in different sizes in one order?
A: Of course, but each design must meet the MOQ of 30,000 pcs. For example: you can order 30,000 pcs of 16oz with Logo A, and 30,000 pcs of 32oz with Logo B – both in one shipment.
Q: Do you ship worldwide?
A:Yes. We export to North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. We work with freight forwarders or you can use your own.
