No.1 PET polyethylene terephthalate

No.2 HDPE high-density polyethylene

Common white medicine bottles, cleaning products, and bath products. Do not use it again as a water cup or as a storage container for other items. Not thoroughly cleaned, do not reuse.

 

No.3 PVC polyvinyl chloride

Common raincoats, building materials, plastic films, plastic boxes, etc. Excellent plasticity and low price, so it is widely used and can only withstand heat up to 81 ℃ It is easy to produce harmful substances at high temperatures and is rarely used in food packaging. Difficult to clean and prone to residue, do not recycle. Do not purchase beverages.

 

No.4 PE polyethylene

Common cling film, plastic film, etc. Harmful substances are produced when the temperature is high. When the toxic substances enter the human body with food, they may cause breast cancer, congenital defects in newborns, and other diseases. Don't put plastic wrap in the microwave.

 

No. 5 PP polypropylene

Common soybean milk bottles, yogurt bottles, juice drink bottles, microwave oven lunch boxes. With a melting point of up to 167 ℃, it is the only plastic box that can be placed in a microwave oven and can be reused after careful cleaning. It should be noted that some microwave lunch boxes are made of No. 5 PP for the box body, but the box cover is made of No. 1 PE. As PE cannot withstand high temperatures, it cannot be placed in the microwave together with the box body.

 

No.6 PS polystyrene

Common bowl-style instant noodle boxes and fast food boxes. Do not put it in the microwave to avoid releasing chemicals due to high temperature. After adding acidic (such as orange juice) and alkaline substances, carcinogenic substances will be decomposed. Avoid packaging hot food in fast food boxes. Don't use the microwave to cook instant noodles.
